A Midyear Review: Healthcare Dealmaking Trends Of 2025 (Law360)

Professionals

Law360 Healthcare Authority asked attorneys focused on healthcare deals what they believed to be the trends that have influenced dealmaking in the industry so far in 2025. Chris Wilson, co-chair of the healthcare practice at Goodwin, said he's seen a "general rebound in healthcare transactional activity" led by large cap transactions. Some notable recent deals in physician practice management transactions so far this year, like Cencora's $5.1 billion acquisition of Retina Consultants of America, which closed in January, may be pushing investors to "take a fresh look at physician practice management deals more broadly," Wilson said. "It isn't like it was in 2021 where you saw exits take the form of companies that really represented all stripes," he said. "I think what you're seeing is an upsurge in exit activity of the highest quality assets in the market because buyers I think can afford to continue to be selective."
