Matthew E. Feuerman

Matt Feuerman is a partner in Goodwin’s nationally recognized Real Estate Industry group, advising real estate funds, investment advisors, and institutional investors on some of the most complex and high-stakes commercial real estate transactions in the nation. His practice centers on joint ventures, recapitalizations, preferred equity and structured investments, mortgage and mezzanine financings, and asset-level and entity-level acquisitions and dispositions, often involving portfolios, sophisticated capital structures, or distressed assets. Matt is frequently brought in on deals that demand inventive structuring, coordination across layered capital providers, and flawless execution under intense time pressure.

Matt’s experience spans a broad range of commercial real estate asset classes, including multifamily, student housing, single-family-rental and build-to-rent, hospitality, industrial and logistics, self-storage, and office.

• Portfolio financings and sales of industrial properties located throughout the United States, exceeding $1.5 billion in aggregate value.
• Acquisitions and dispositions of large-scale multifamily and student housing portfolios nationwide.
• A leading global real estate investment manager on a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure involving a distressed asset in California.
• A prominent institutional real estate investment firm on complex construction and permanent mortgage financings for Class A office and mixed-use projects across the United States, exceeding $1 billion in aggregate value.
• A major institutional real estate investment firm in structuring a preferred equity investment in an Amazon-leased logistics facility.
• A globally recognized real estate investment management firm in forming a programmatic joint venture with a strategic operator for the acquisition and operation of single-family rental assets nationwide.
• A nationally recognized real estate investment and advisory firm in conducting a UCC foreclosure in connection with a mezzanine loan secured by a hospitality asset in New York, New York.
