Edward Newton is counsel in Goodwin’s Risk Management & Insurance practice and a member of the firm’s transactional insurance advisory group. His practice focuses on the use of representations and warranties (R&W) insurance in connection with domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Edward joined Goodwin in 2025.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Goodwin, Edward spent nearly a decade as a transactional risk underwriter at leading insurers, where he structured R&W insurance and related products on hundreds of transactions.
Before moving into insurance, Edward practiced for several years as an M&A associate at leading international law firms in New York.
