Anna Roy is an associate in Goodwin’s Employment practice. She provides thoughtful, strategic counsel to employers navigating complex workplace matters.
Anna’s practice spans the full employment lifecycle — from drafting and negotiating executive employment agreements and restrictive covenants to advising on day-to-day compliance and guiding employers through employee disputes and workforce transitions. She also conducts sensitive workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, ethics violations, and whistleblower claims.
Anna represents employers in litigation and pre-litigation disputes, including claims involving discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and restrictive covenant enforcement. She also supports the firm’s transactional practice by advising on employment-related diligence, risk assessment, and post-closing workforce planning in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and financing efforts.

Prior Professional Experience
Before joining Goodwin, Anna was a senior litigation associate at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP, where she was a joint member of the firm’s complex trial & appellate litigation and labor & employment practice groups. Anna also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable M. Page Kelley of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
During law school, Anna served as a full-time judicial intern to the Honorable Norman H. Stahl of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She also worked full-time as a legislative director in the Massachusetts State Senate where she advised on a broad range of legislative and policy issues.
