Litigation

Goodwin’s global litigation department leverages challenges to redefine expectations and create change. With client centricity as a core value, our more than 300 litigators adapted under unprecedented circumstances during the pandemic and served the needs of clients in high-stakes matters across jurisdictions. Whether representing plaintiffs or defendants, our litigators are both savvy negotiators and zealous advocates with significant experience in the technology, life sciences, healthcare, private equity, financial services, fintech and real estate sectors.

Goodwin litigators overcame the obstacles created by the COVID-19 pandemic and won two significant intellectual property jury verdicts over a three-month period. Our commercial litigators launched in mid-trial to handle a critical matter for a growing technology company facing a thorny whistleblower matter, while our consumer financial services litigators prevailed in a bet-the-company matter for the largest non-bank mortgage servicer in the United States. And just before the pandemic commenced, our white collar team concluded an investigation for a prestigious institution of higher education related to a high-profile financier.

While recently expanding our litigation group to London and adding prominent partners to our teams in California, New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., we strive to maintain our unique culture that prioritizes collaboration, equity and an entrepreneurial spirit. This culture has not only enabled us to help our clients and communities overcome the challenges of recent years, but will ensure that we are able to continue to support them in the years ahead.
