Goodwin’s Elaine Blais and Diane McCabe Named to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Top Women of Law 2026
Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has named Goodwin partners Elaine Blais and Diane McCabe to its Top Women of Law list for 2026. This annual award honors exceptional female lawyers who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers, and role models throughout the state of Massachusetts.
Elaine, co-chair of Goodwin’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice, focuses on patent litigation and licensing disputes and has first-chaired numerous lawsuits and trials in federal courts nationwide. She is a member of Goodwin’s Allocations Committee, previously served on the firm’s Executive Committee, and is the former head of Goodwin’s Litigation department in Boston. Elaine is also co-founder and editor of the award-winning biosimilars blog, Big Molecule Watch, and previously co-chaired Goodwin’s Dobbs Task Force. She has guided clients through every phase of patent litigation and played a key role in significant IP victories, including Teva Pharmaceuticals’ landmark jury verdict of more than $176 million against Eli Lilly. In 2023, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly named Elaine a Go To Lawyer for Intellectual Property. She is also committed to pro bono and community service, with a focus on expanding access to justice for immigrants, refugees, children, and other vulnerable individuals.
Diane, co-chair of Goodwin’s Joint Ventures and Real Estate Finance practice, advises on complex commercial real estate transactions, including joint ventures, financings, restructurings, acquisitions, and development matters. A trusted adviser to leading real estate investors and operators, she is recognized for her sophisticated transactional practice, business-focused counsel, and leadership within Goodwin’s nationally recognized Real Estate Industry group. In 2026, she was named one of GlobeSt.’s Women of Influence. Diane is also committed to advancing women in the legal profession and mentoring future leaders through her work at Goodwin and in the broader community, including as a mentor through the Goldie Initiative.
