The Supreme Court’s Term: Many Emergencies, Few Opinions

In between reviewing emergency applications by or against the federal government, the Supreme Court finished its merits decisions and left town for the summer. The Court’s merits docket was lighter than ever, and the Court left several key business cases undecided, while hitting some important issues of administrative and constitutional law. And some harsh words were exchanged about how pro-business the Court really is. Goodwin partner Brian Burgess in our Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice presented on what last term’s decisions signal for the coming battles between businesses, blue states, and the Trump Administration.
