PRESS: Justices Agree to Hear Copyright Case Over Cheerleading Uniforms (New York Law Journal)


William Jay, a partner in and co-chair of Goodwin’s Appellate Litigation Practice, discusses an U.S. Supreme Court decision to determine whether cheerleading apparel designs can be copyrighted. Jay also argues that courts have long recognized the distinction between fabric design (copyrightable) and dress design (typically not copyrightable).
