Senior SEC Enforcement Official Joins Goodwin (Law.com)

Jonathan Hecht, who was an assistant chief counsel and acting co-chief counsel in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement division, departed for Goodwin in Washington, D.C. Hecht said that it took the right situation for him to leave the SEC and that the timing and Goodwin's platform intersected to form that situation. “For me, Goodwin represents an ideal platform to build a practice and allows me to be a part of a roster of innovative clients that are regulated or impacted by the work of the SEC.” Deborah Birnbach, co-chair of the Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, said in a statement to Law.com, “over the past five years, Jonathan advised on hundreds of recommendations the enforcement division made to the commission to commence and settle matters and provided input on countless investigations."
