Global law firm Goodwin announced today that Eram Khan has joined the firm’s Antitrust & Competition practice as a partner in the London office.

“Continuing to grow the competition practice in Europe is a crucial element of the firm’s strategy to invest in and expand its global antitrust offering to meet our clients’ needs,” said Sarah Jordan, partner in Goodwin’s Antitrust & Competition practice. “Eram brings significant UK, EU and cross-border merger control and advisory experience, and will be an outstanding addition to our team as we continue to build the practice. We are delighted she is joining the firm.”

Khan has over a decade of experience advising major companies, investment banks, institutional investors and private equity clients on their most challenging international transactions, with an emphasis on EU and multi-jurisdictional merger control, foreign investment control and behavioral antitrust issues. She has extensive experience in advising leniency applicants in EC cartel investigations, compliance work and market studies carried out by competition and financial regulatory authorities in the EU and the UK.

Khan’s hire into the London antitrust team follows closely on from that of counsel Charlotte Brunsdon and associates Anuj Ghai, Sophie Entwisle, and Chloe Birkett. Jordan launched Goodwin’s European Antitrust & Competition practice in March 2022 as the firm further built out its depth in the practice following the 2021 arrivals of leading antitrust practitioners Andrew Lacy (Washington, D.C.), and Arman Oruc (Silicon Valley / Washington, D.C.).

Goodwin was named the number one firm (by deal count) for global, U.K., and U.S. M&A, and global, U.S., and European private equity buyouts by Mergermarket in the H1 2022 league tables.

Goodwin’s Antitrust and Competition lawyers have advised clients — from the largest Fortune 500 companies to emerging growth companies — on more than 2,500 transactions before US and international antitrust agencies. The team has successfully defended hundreds of matters through the Second Request process and other intensive government investigations. Global Competition Review recently ranked Goodwin’s practice as “Elite” in the 2023 edition of the GCR 100.
