Goodwin Boosts its Private Investment Funds Practice in Hong Kong with the Arrival of Youjung Byon

Goodwin is pleased to announce that Youjung Byon will be joining the firm as a partner in the Private Investment Funds practice in Hong Kong.

“Youjung is a highly respected practitioner with proven ability to lead complex fund formations, fundraisings and mandates,” says Michael Halford, a partner in Goodwin’s Private Equity group and Co-Chair of the firm’s global Private Investment Funds practice. “She will be a fantastic addition to our Private Investment Funds practice in Hong Kong and our Private Equity team globally in delivering exceptional value to our clients.”

With over 15 years of experience, Youjung specializes in advising Asia-based private fund sponsors on the formation of private investment funds, including buyout, growth capital, debt, venture capital, and real estate funds. She provides legal advice to founders on governance and economics matters as well as co-investment transactions, regulatory issues, and operational considerations.

Youjung holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and engineering degrees from Yale University. She is admitted to practice in both New York and Hong Kong and her expertise spans China, Japan and Southeast Asia. She is also fluent in Korean.
