Professionals

Goodwin partner Emily Rapalino has been named a 2026 BTI Client Service All-Star. Overseen by the BTI Consulting Group, the BTI Client Service All-Stars is a select group of fewer than 300 lawyers nationwide, chosen by leading corporate counsel for their ability to provide exceptional client service.

In Emily’s BTI profile, client feedback referred to Emily as “attentive and creative, with deep experience.”

As a partner in Goodwin’s IP Litigation practice and a member of the firm’s Life Sciences Disputes team, Emily draws on advanced degrees in biology to navigate the scientific and technical nuances at the heart of pharmaceutical and biotechnology litigation. She advises clients on a broad range of pre-litigation and litigation matters, relying on her deep industry knowledge to secure the best business outcomes for her clients.

Emily played a key role in the trial win for Cephalon involving Treanda®, an oncology drug with annual sales reaching up to $800 million, where the court found in Cephalon’s favor on all asserted infringement claims. More recently, she secured key victories for Sandoz in its Esbriet® patent dispute both at the district court and on appeal, allowing Sandoz to be first to market with its generic product. She advises pharmaceutical companies on patent strategy related to small molecules, biologics, and complex therapeutics.

The BTI Client Service report is based on more than 350 in-depth interviews with top legal decision makers at large organizations with $700 million or more in revenue.
