Goodwin Launches New Internal AI Platform (Law360 Pulse)

Goodwin told Law360 Pulse on Friday that it has developed a new proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) platform designed to build and scale specific AI tools across the firm, starting with venture financing. The platform, named Regina OS after former Chair Regina Pisa, is in line with Goodwin’s promise earlier this year to become an “AI-native” law firm, joining with other BigLaw firms embracing the AI-native trend, aiming to have 90% of its employees using AI tools in their everyday work by the end of 2026. “The goal is to help our lawyers spend less time on routine tasks and more time delivering insights and advice to clients,” Chief Digital and Technology Officer Eric Tan told Law360 Pulse. Regina OS was built through a program called Goodwin Builders, in which the firm “brings together attorneys and technologists to develop AI solutions grounded in real-world legal workflows.” It also pulls from platforms built by Microsoft, Anthropic and OpenAI, with which the firm has made “strategic partnerships.” The platform is an internal AI operating system, helping the firm connect its internal expertise and data with a suite of AI platforms that are specifically tailored to its needs while “maintaining consistent governance, security and quality standards,” Tan said. “Think of it as the foundation that provides secure access to data, workflows, models, governance, and user experiences,” he said. “Regina OS isn’t a single application; it’s a platform. Rather than building stand-alone tools from scratch, Regina OS provides reusable capabilities that can be applied across legal and business workflows.”
