Legal Week named London Private Equity partner Gemma Roberts to its 40 Under 40: The Rising Stars in Private Equity list. The annual award uses comprehensive market research and client feedback to select the best up and coming private practice lawyers in the U.K. private equity industry.
Roberts represents a broad range of private equity sponsors, corporate clients and portfolio companies on a variety of corporate and commercial advisory matters. The publication noted Roberts’ clients referring to her as being “fantastic” and “crucial” during transactions and lauded her contributions to Women@Goodwin, which aims to recruit, retain and promote female lawyers across the firm’s London office.
Roberts has previously been named UK Lawyer of the Year by The Deal, Pan European Legal Advisor of the Year by Real Deals and a Law360 Rising Star for Private Equity. She also led the team named Legal Week’s Transatlantic M+A Team of the Year for their work advising WisdomTree Investments on its $611 million acquisition of ETF Securities’ European commodities platform.
