Goodwin provides CEOs, directors and corporate legal officers with the regulatory insight and experience necessary to navigate investigations initiated by state attorneys general. Our State Attorneys General practice is comprised of more than a dozen former U.S. federal prosecutors with intimate knowledge of how matters progress behind the scenes, potential obstacles and how investigations develop.

Goodwin’s State Attorneys General practice has litigated in more than 13 states and focuses on financial services, life sciences, technology and consumer products areas. Our deep bench consists of a former Associate Attorney General of the United States who oversaw the Civil Rights, Environmental, Tax, Civil and Anti-Trust divisions at the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as the Bureau of Prisons. Also on the team is a former federal prosecutor who served as a member of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee – Subcommittee on Health Care Fraud.

Our team is strategically located in states where Attorneys General investigations are most active, and are well-versed in handling Consumer Financial Protection Bureau enforcement actions, False Claims Act actions, and New York Department of Financial Services investigations, among a litany of other cases.
