The Life Sciences team advised Ginkgo Bioworks on its transaction to expand its partnership with Genomatica to accelerate biotechnology innovations for widely-used chemicals. Ginkgo will now provide expanded access to its foundry capabilities and services, while increasing its equity stake in Genomatica. As a result, Genomatica is better positioned to expand its product lines and grow its impact on making everyday products more sustainable.
Ginkgo Bioworks uses the most advanced technology on the planet – biology – to grow products instead of manufacturing them. The company's technology platform is bringing biotechnology into consumer goods markets, enabling fragrance, cosmetic, nutrition, food, agriculture and pharmaceuticals to make better products.
The Goodwin team was led by partner Robert Puopolo.
