Goodwin was named International Law Firm of the Year at the 2022 British Legal Awards, which were held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on November 23. Now in their 13th year and hosted by Law.com International, The British Legal Awards recognize outstanding achievements by the private practice and in-house communities in the UK legal sector.

The judging panel noted that Goodwin’s “63% spike in turnover [in the UK] after years of strategic investment and growth” made the firm stand out amongst the entries. It also highlighted that “since 2016, the firm has increased its London operation from 32 real estate lawyers to a multi-practice team of nearly 200. In particular, it has excelled in real estate, tech and life sciences and private equity, topping various league tables.”
In addition to being named International Law Firm of the Year, Goodwin was also shortlisted for Private Equity Team of the Year and Life Sciences Team of the Year. In 2020, Goodwin was named Life Sciences Team of the Year for the first time in firm history.
The British Legal Awards winners were decided by an independent judging panel made up of general counsel, senior members of the legal community as well as former law firm managing partners.
