Goodwin Advises Client on European Hotel Portfolio Recapitalisation and Disposal of Controlling Interests

Goodwin’s Real Estate Industry group has advised its client on a disposal of controlling interests in, and the recapitalisation by Cedar Capital Partners and Ares Management Real Estate Secondaries Fund of, a portfolio of leading lifestyle hotels located in key European gateway cities.

The transaction (one of the largest European deals by value in its asset class over the last 12 months) highlights the current position of hotel real estate as a core focus for investors, driven by the trend of experiential tourism across Europe.

The transaction reinforces Goodwin’s reputation as one of the leading firms for executing complex cross-border portfolio M&A, particularly in the operational real estate, and the hospitality and leisure sector.
