Goodwin Hires Funds Partner Kingsbury (Financial News)

Goodwin has boosted its London ranks with a funds partner as law firms continue to battle for senior talent. Ed Kingsbury is set to join Goodwin’s global Investment Funds team in London. He represents sponsors and investors on the structuring, formation, and operation of private investment funds, with a focus on European venture capital. He also advises on secondaries transactions and investment management arrangements. Michael Halford, co-chair of Investment Funds at Goodwin, said Kingsbury will strengthen the firm’s capabilities “to support fund sponsors and investors across Europe”. The hire follows a number of additions in Goodwin’s London team including Private Equity partner trio Anu Balasubramanian, Jamie Holdoway, and Chetan Sheth, Debt Finance partner Matt Ayre, and Technology M&A partner Emmie Jones. Goodwin said its funds team now has over 200 lawyers globally and represents more than 1,000 funds managers.
