Goodwin Grows Global Private Equity Team with Partner Carl Bradshaw in London

Goodwin announced today that Carl Bradshaw will join the firm’s Private Equity group as partner in the London office.

Bradshaw focuses on cross-border private equity deals. He advises private investment funds and their portfolio companies and management teams on transactions across the technology, life sciences, consumer, industrial and financial and business services sectors throughout Europe. Bradshaw has structured and negotiated the full spectrum of private equity deal types including leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, public-to-privates, consortium deals and co-investments. He also has experience in the equity aspects of distress-to-control investments and special situations.

“There has been a significant growth in demand for cross-border M&A capabilities among our private equity transactions and private investment funds clients in the UK and globally,” said Richard Lever, partner in Goodwin’s Private Equity group in the London office. “Carl’s robust skillset coupled with his deep experience in advising private equity investors and innovative companies is a perfect match for Goodwin’s platform and is another step forward in the continued expansion of our private equity, technology and life sciences practices in the UK.”

Over the past five years, Goodwin's European offices have grown from 20 to nearly 200 lawyers, almost all of whom are dedicated to the private equity, technology, life sciences and real estate industries. Bradshaw’s arrival follows the recent openings of Goodwin’s private investment funds-focused office in Luxembourg and a technology- and life sciences-focused office in Cambridge, UK.

Bradshaw has been recognized by IFLR and SuperLawyers and featured in Financial News Under 40 Rising Stars in European Legal Services. He received his undergraduate degree from Loughborough University, Master’s degree from Cambridge University and Graduate Diploma in Law from Nottingham Law School. Bradshaw is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.

A leader at the intersection of capital, innovation and technology, Goodwin’s full-service Private Equity practice covers the entire life cycle of clients’ investments, from fund formation to investments and exits. The practice is a market leader in the expansive middle-market sector, having earned a reputation for notable buyouts, growth-equity deals and growth-company representations in key sectors such as technology, life sciences, healthcare, financial and business services, consumer and manufacturing.

Goodwin was recently named among the top law firms of 2019 for private equity and venture capital by Forbes and the “M&A Mid-Market Law Firm of the Year” by Mergers and Acquisitions magazine, and is currently ranked among the top five advisors (by deal count) across a number of categories and regions in Mergermarket’s Global M&A League Tables for the first half of 2019.
