Private Investment Funds Partner Greg Larkin Joins Goodwin in Washington, D.C.

Global law firm Goodwin today announced that Greg Larkin joined the Private Investment Funds practice as a partner, resident in the Washington, D.C. office.

“Greg is a highly skilled lawyer with deep knowledge of the federal securities laws and regulatory issues that impact private funds and investment advisers,” said Mandee Gruen, co-chair of the Private Investment Funds practice. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the firm as we continue to add best-in-class talent to our global platform.”

Larkin focuses his practice on providing regulatory and compliance advice to financial services firms, particularly investment advisers and sponsors of private investment funds and other pooled investment vehicles. He works primarily on regulatory issues related to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940 regarding investment adviser registration, regulation and reporting, private fund formation, SEC examinations, mergers and acquisitions, and financing transactions.

Larkin is the tenth Private Investment Funds partner to join the firm this year, following the arrivals of David Wagner, Michael Aluko, and Karen Chao in New York, Sebastian Bruchwitz in Frankfurt, and elyn Xing in Hong Kong.

Goodwin’s 160+ lawyer Private Investment Funds practice supports over 500 investment managers raising capital to invest in the private equity, real estate, technology, and life sciences sectors. In the past 18 months, the practice closed more than 60 funds totaling over $200 billion in raised capital.
