Global 50 law firm Goodwin announced today that partner Greg Barclay has relocated to its Hong Kong office to join the firm’s Asia Practice. Barclay is a member of Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds Group and specialises in complex cross-border fund formation matters.

With 15 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer in Toronto, Munich and London, Barclay advises on the structuring and establishment of international private investment funds, including private equity, venture capital, mezzanine/debt, infrastructure, hedge and real estate funds, and related carried interest and management-focused corporate arrangements. His work also includes counseling on various investor relations and ongoing fund operation matters, representing institutional investors investing in private funds, and advising on other investment-related matters across the alternative asset classes. Among his clients are leading global investment management and advisory firms, including Ares Management, GreenOak, Kreos Capital and Viola Group.
Barclay earned his undergraduate degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and his M.A. and J.D. degrees from University of Toronto. He has been a member of Goodwin’s London office since joining the firm in February 2012. In October 2014, Barclay became a Goodwin partner. He is also a member of the firm’s Impact & Responsible Investing Practice and serves on Goodwin’s Inclusion Advisory Committee.
