The London Technology team advised Octopus Ventures on the completion of its lead investment into Taster, a London-based company behind a series of digital restaurant brands, as part of its $37 million Series B Funding round. The funding is expected to expand the company’s presence across its three existing markets, as well as drive expansion into new cities. Taster aims to be operational in 40 cities by the end of 2021, as well as support the launch of at least two new consumer brands. The financing also saw participation from Rakuten as well as existing investors Battery Ventures, LocalGlobe, and Heartcore Capital.
Octopus Ventures is one of Europe’s largest and most active venture capital firms investing in startups in the areas of health, money, deep tech, and consumer.
Taster is a delivery-only restaurant chain intended to offer a wide range of cuisines. The company prepares a variety of meals from Korean, Vietnamese, and Hawaiian cuisines, thereby enabling consumers to order online and get authentic cuisines delivered at their doorstep.
The Goodwin team was led by Ali Ramadan and Sonja Jounus.
