Goodwin Advises Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan on $1.2 Billion Series D Investment into Wayve

Goodwin advised Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (“Ontario Teachers’”) on its investment into Wayve as part of a $1.2 billion Series D investment round, bringing the company's post-money valuation to $8.6 billion. Wayve is a global autonomy platform company and a leader in embodied AI for autonomous driving.

Ontario Teachers’ is a global investor with net assets of C$269.6 billion as at June 30, 2025. Ontario Teachers’ is a fully funded defined benefit pension plan, and it invests in a broad array of asset classes to deliver retirement security for 343,000 working members and pensioners.

Wayve pioneered the application of end-to-end AI to autonomous driving in 2017 and has since industrialised its safety-by-design architecture into a production-ready autonomy platform. The funding accelerates the company's shift from AI research leadership to scaled commercial deployment of its end-to-end AI platform.

The Goodwin team was led by Sophie McGrath, Lucy Thomas, Alec Smith, Estelle Candau, and Duy Le with invaluable assistance from Akshay Chauhan, Alex Fisher, Alexandra Mulligan, Amie Corry, Anna Humphrey, Curtis McCluskey, Geng To Law, Gretchen Scott, Hakyung Lee, James Taylor, Joseph Ndep, Oscar Mulvin, and Tobin Cleary.
