Goodwin is growing its West Coast team by adding a real estate expert as a partner in its San Francisco office, the firm said Thursday. Dustin Calkins joined the Real Estate practice, which has more than 200 attorneys. "There are certain firms that you look at and peers that you really respect as to how they operate," Calkins said to Law360. "Goodwin was always at the top of the list of those that I respected and attorneys that I like. That was in part how the conversation began. And months later, here we are, and I'm excitedly and happily joining the Goodwin team — a team that I hope I can help strengthen, because it is certainly strong as it stands." He said he is especially impressed with how important the real estate practice is at Goodwin. "The real estate industry as a whole is one of the pillars and focuses of the firm," Calkins said.
