Goodwin Advises Bionyra Pharma on $165 million Oversubscribed Series A and In-Licensing of Multiple Next-Generation Biologics

A multidisciplinary global Life Sciences team advised Bionyra Pharma on the company’s launch and its $165 million oversubscribed Series A financing co-led by Jeito Capital and Sofinnova Partners. Arkin Bio, Sanofi Ventures, Sixty Degree Capital, Vives Partners, and Apollo Health Ventures also participated in this inaugural funding. The company received seed financing from Sofinnova Partners and was co-founded by former Sanofi R&D executive Dr. Frédéric Marrache, who serves as CEO of the company, and Anta Gkelou of Sofinnova Capital.

Bionyra Pharma is advancing next-generation mono and multispecific antibodies for diseases with high unmet need despite currently available treatments, including atopic dermatitis and inflammatory bowel disease. It is built on a broad pipeline of next-generation anti-inflammatory therapies, in-licensed from China and the United States. In conjunction with the financing, Goodwin advised Bionyra on its foundational in-licenses from New Jersey-based NovaRock Biotherapeutics and Chinese biotech TrueLab Biopharmaceutical. Goodwin assisted Bionyra in obtaining exclusive rights outside of Greater China to a number of antibody assets including a leading TL1A monoclonal antibody with half-life extension (HLE) technology with best-in-class potential in IBD and other TL1A-relevant indications, a first- and best-in-class TL1A*IL-23p19 bispecific antibody with HLE technology that entered the clinic in April 2026, and a first- and best-in-class IL-25 monoclonal antibody with HLE technology in IND stage for atopic dermatitis and Type 2 inflammation. Bionyra’s goal is to quickly advance these three assets through Phase 1, as well as progressing additional innovative preclinical assets.

Goodwin’s financing team was led by Xavier Leroux and included Johann Gandilhon, Valentine Nuaud, and Alice Borgida. The licensing team was led by Morag Peberdy and included Lucy Charlton, Curtis McCluskey, and David Chen, and the broader global deal team included Marie-Laure Bruneel, Sophie McGrath, and Jacob Osborn.
