Steve Feldstein serves as of counsel in the firm’s Employment practice. He focuses his practice on labor and employment law. Steve joined Goodwin in 2008 as the firm's first employment partner resident in California.

Experience

Steve has represented and counseled companies in diverse areas of labor and employment law. His practice includes advising management regarding key employee relations, trade secrets protection, avoiding and litigating wrongful termination and employment discrimination claims, employee handbooks and policies, workforce reductions, NLRB proceedings, union avoidance, arbitration and collective bargaining, OSHA compliance, independent contractor issues, and wage and hour disputes. Steve also counsels companies on the employment-related ramifications of corporate mergers and acquisitions.

Steve’s recent representative experience involving transactions includes:

  • ANA Therapeutics in its sale to NeuroBo Pharmaceuticals
  • OVH in its acquisition of vCloud Air
  • Delinia in its sale to Celgene for $300 million upfront and $475 million in milestones
  • PENSCO Trust Company in its sale to Opus Bank
  • TripAdvisor in its acquisition of Viator for $200 million
  • Trunk Club in its sale to Nordstrom

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin, Steve was a shareholder in the Silicon Valley office of Heller Ehrman, where he was nationwide co-chair of its labor and employment practice.

Steve has lectured on labor and employment law at Stanford University, St. Mary’s College, College of Marin and various seminars for attorneys, human resources professionals and others. He is the co-author of the chapters “Settlement,” in Wrongful Employment Termination Practice (CEB, 1987), and “Handling the Wrongful Discharge Action,” in Personal Injury Handbook (James Publishing, 1991).
