Goodwin Scales Life Sciences & Technology Platform in Paris with Intellectual Property Partner Marie Fillon

Global law firm Goodwin announced today the expansion of its global Life Sciences and Technology platform in Paris with the addition of intellectual property partner Marie Fillon. Fillon will work alongside Paris-based technology and life sciences partners Anne-Charlotte Rivière, Thomas Dupont-Sentilles and Benjamin Garçon.

“Having Marie join our team in Paris reinforces our position as the global destination practice for the life sciences industry,” said Mitchell Bloom, chair of Goodwin’s Life Sciences Practice. “Her expertise in licensing, collaborations and intellectual property law fits perfectly with our platform in Paris, where we continue to scale our European one-stop-shop lifecycle practice.”

“Marie joins us at an exciting time as we continue to expand our newly-launched French technology and life sciences platform, led by Anne-Charlotte, Thomas and Benjamin,” said Maxence Bloch, chair of Goodwin’s Paris office. “Our team advises innovative companies operating at the intersection of life sciences, technology and private equity. Marie's expertise fits perfectly with our firm’s well-established venture capital and mergers and acquisitions offering. We are thrilled to welcome Marie to Goodwin.”

With 15 years of experience, Fillon advises clients on intellectual property agreements and intellectual property-related issues in connection with mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. She has significant experience in patent, trademark and copyright litigation, assisting clients in national, pan-European and international large-scale disputes.

Goodwin’s Life Sciences practice represents leading public and private life sciences companies and investors across their entire lifecycles — including financings, capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, collaborations and licensing, intellectual property, and regulatory matters. U.S. News – Best Lawyers’ 2021 edition named Goodwin the Biotechnology Law Firm of the Year for the sixth time. LMG Life Sciences’ most recent awards named Goodwin Firm of the Year in the corporate and intellectual property categories, and distinguished Goodwin as a lifecycle firm, denoting rankings across all practice categories.
