The Deal Awards have recognized Goodwin for excellence across three categories in 2021. Maggie Wong was named Healthcare, Pharma & Biotech Dealmaker of the Year (Large Cap), and Goodwin teams were recognized for their leading role in the T-Mobile and Sprint merger, which was named Deal of the Year (Large Cap), and for representing Slack in its acquisition by Salesforce, which was named Technology Media and Telecom Deal of the Year (Large Cap).

Wong is a San Francisco-based partner in Goodwin’s Life Sciences practice. Known for advising clients on corporate, transactional and strategic matters throughout their lifecycle, her varied practice represents emerging companies in the biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics, specialty pharmaceuticals and healthcare information technology sectors.  Wong is also a Steering Committee member leading the development of Goodwin’s groundbreaking PropSci practice, a first-of-its kind initiative designed to meet the unique real estate challenges faced by life sciences companies. She has recently been recognized for excellence by Chambers USAThe Legal 500 US and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association Rainmakers.

Goodwin served as legal counsel to the independent Transaction Committee of the Board of Directors of Sprint Corporation as part of T-Mobile US, Inc.’s merger with Sprint Corporation to create the New T-Mobile. Completing this deal took years of complex negotiations and nearly two years of regulatory review. A Goodwin Technology team advised channel-based messaging platform Slack Technologies, Inc. on its acquisition by leading customer relationship management provider (CRM) Salesforce. Under the terms of the agreement, Slack stockholders received $26.79 in cash and 0.0776 shares of Salesforce common stock for each Slack share, representing an enterprise value of approximately $27.7 billion.
