Chambers USA 2017 Recognizes Goodwin in 52 Practice Areas

Goodwin, a leading Global 50 law firm, announced today that Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business has recognized the firm and its lawyers for excellence in numerous practice areas. A total of 108 of the firm’s partners were named as leading lawyers in the legal directory’s 2017 edition, and 52 practice groups were selected for ranking. Twenty-one Goodwin lawyers were ranked in multiple practice areas/categories this year. Goodwin added rankings in four Massachusetts categories: Litigation: White Collar Crime and Government Investigations, Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use, Banking & Finance, and Tax; and two California categories: Intellectual Property: Patent, and Corporate/M&A: Venture Capital. On a national level, Goodwin also added rankings in the Startups & Emerging Companies; Tax: Corporate & Finance and International Trade: Export Controls & Economic Sanctions categories.

For the eleventh consecutive year, Goodwin partner Gilbert G. Menna was named a “Star Individual” in Nationwide: REITs, Chambers’ most select designation for lawyers. In addition, Thomas M. Hefferon was named a “Star Individual” in the Nationwide: Financial Services Regulation: Consumer Finance (Litigation) for the second consecutive year.

Seven Goodwin partners were honored as “Senior Statesman” in nine categories: John J. Cleary in both the Nationwide and Massachusetts Employee Benefits & Executive Comp categories; Edward Glazer in the Nationwide: REITs category; Daniel M.
